To enhance the lives of children in need of families through adoption grants, loans, and orphanage support.
OUR STORY
Christine and Rick Burkholder adopted twin infants, Grace and Isabella, from Guatemala in 2004. They were so touched by the sheer number of children who needed to be adopted that they just had to help and the foundation was born. The next generation of Burkholders has felt the impact of adoption and has been inspired by their parents' mission to help children find families. The Burkholder family foundation is committed to helping build families though the process of adoption.
THE NEED
The global orphan epidemic affects over 153 million children worldwide, and an additional 5,700 children become orphans every day. Families are answering the call to give orphans forever, loving homes despite the cost and sacrifice. The Burkholder Family Foundation has valiantly stepped up to the plate to assist these courageous families.
The Burkholder Family Foundation has been a huge blessing to Nightlight families through their grant initiative. The adoptive families receiving Burkholder grants are families who have been through long, difficult journeys. They have been able to complete their adoption journeys through the assistance of grants given by the foundation. One recipient of a generous grant wrote, “As I was in on my knee yesterday asking God to show himself to me, in a form of miracle, I received a voice message from Christine Burkholder.”

Orphan support. Enhancing the lives of orphans through gifts, clothing, and education supplies.
Education Opportunities; Provide grants and scholarships for students who have been adopted to continue their education.
We have built computer labs in orphanages in Guatemala, built an afterschool room for Habitat
